I am so far behind on my posts so I'm doing my best to play catch up! We had Davis' third birthday party on Saturday, August 13th at our house. We tossed around a bunch of ideas and scenarios before settling on inviting all his friends- from school, from the neighborhood and from our friends with kids- and bringing in a mobile petting zoo! It was fantastic- the kids loved it and Davis had so much fun. The petting zoo was a huge hit... there was a pot bellied pig, goats, sheep, ducks, exotic chickens, bunny rabbits, AND pony rides. They even brought a jumpy house meant for toddlers. There was plenty for the kids to do without it having to be an "organized" activity, which 3 and unders aren't really capable of handling :)
We had a lot of fun preparing for the party. Erin stopped by on her way in to town of Friday and helped us get ready. Davis helped me make six (or was it seven?) dozen cupcakes. He loves to help in the kitchen, so cupcake mix from the box was ideal. Keeping him from touching the cupcakes once they were out of the oven and cooled was a challenge... I actually caught him LICKING them after he'd been told not to touch them (with his hand)... gross and funny. We decorated the carport and set up tables and chairs for the kids to sit at for ice cream and cake. It was all very festive and cute. Davis was so excited for his friends to come over. It was definitely the most exciting birthday yet.
I'll continue to let pictures help to tell the story (in no particular order because I can't figure out the best way to add photos to this blog).
